In search of identity

Dance Companie MS dance work inspired by "Mental Maps & Patterns" at the International Dance Festival in Kassel

How is our thinking structured? And what is the human perception of stability and orientation? In a powerful presentation followed the young dance-theater Companie "Cie ms-dance work" in Mannheim at the eleventh International Dance Festival Kassel on Saturday the way of human identity.
in 2006 with the Stuttgart Theater Prize-winning play "Mental Maps & Patterns", after the choreography of Mario and Sophie Heinemann Jaillet, convinced by a successful combination of dance, music, video, text and light.

the beginning man is naked and unprotected. Only involved in the community, treated externally with its environment, it begins to become aware of its identity. The dancers Ariane Funabashi, Berit Jentsch, Felix Knight, Hanna Feldhaus and Nina Patricia Hänel face the questions of what drives the people and the thought patterns of his identity are crucial. Order and orientation provide the mental maps, cognitive maps that consolidate itself as a biographical pattern in mind.

Mario Heinemann goes with "Mental Maps & Patterns" on a tightrope of experimental dance theater. One challenge is to bring the elements of text, light, music, video and movement in harmony. The subtle use of each creates a great, subtle and masterful picture. formulate with precision and dynamics of the dancers, the individual patterns of memories, images and sensations. Breaks provided for the "Dancing Dog"-deposits. Nicole gardener provided with "Fly" to prove the importance of orientation and order. But including even a dog in the choreography, Heinemann mastered amazingly natural.

"Mental Maps & Patterns" is a piece that connects the themes of individual socialization and emotional and aesthetic. In enthusiastic applause broke slowly built up tension.
